NBA coverage was the genesis of the Locked On Podcast Network. It later expanded to the NFL and then Major League Baseball last spring. Now the company focused on producing team-focused shows is expanding to another sport: hockey. Locked On is launching a roster of podcasts targeting fans of nearly two dozen NHL teams.

“We are thrilled to offer NHL fans the in- depth podcasts that our basketball, football and baseball listeners have come to rely on,” said Locked On founder and CEO David Locke in the announcement. “Hockey fans have often felt underserved by mainstream sports outlets and we will be there for them every day.”

Locked On’s NHL launch includes local shows for the Blackhawks, Bruins, Canadiens, Canucks, Capitals, Coyotes, Devils, Ducks, Flyers, Golden Knights, Hurricanes, Kings, Maple Leafs, Oilers, Penguins, Rangers, Sabres and Sharks, with more team podcasts being added weekly over the NHL season. In addition, Locked On is launching two league-wide podcasts, Locked On NHL and Locked On Fantasy Hockey.

Locked On has recruited several well-connected hosts for its podcasts such as Tom Gazzola, who is also the Houston Oiler’s pre- and post-game radio host; Jay Zawaski, a team insider for Entercom’s sports “670 The Score” WSCR Chicago; and Andrew Zuber of Yahoo Sports and Mike DiStefano of Bell Media’s sports “TSN 1050” CHUM Toronto.

“The collection of talent coming together for Locked On’s NHL lineup is amazing,” said Sean Woodley, Locked On channel producer. “We’re going to be diverse, smart and super-entertaining across the board. Locked On will fill a major void for hockey fans looking for informed, engaged and daily coverage of their favorite teams.”

Locked On launched with the Locked On Jazz and has quickly grown. Today Locked On produces 450 podcast episodes across more than 100 shows in 60 cities in the U.S. and Canada during a typical week with a format that typically runs 22 to 30 minutes.
