Could a Presidential hate-tweet help draw attention to a new podcast collaboration from Luminary and New York magazine? We’re about to find out. The two companies have chosen Ivanka Trump as the subject of their premiere season to the podcast Tabloid. Hosted by journalist Vanessa Grigoriadis, the show they’ve titled The Making of Ivanka Trump will offer what they’re calling a “full-life inquiry” of the First Daughter.
The series will start with Ivanka Trump’s days as a “party girl” teen in 1980s New York to her role in President Trump’s 2016 campaign. “From the very beginning of Donald’s presidential campaign, Ivanka has been a mesmerizing, inscrutable, maddening enigma,” Luminary and New York say in a joint announcement about the show.
Grigoriadis grew up in the same world and is well versed in the city’s tabloids. For The Making of Ivanka Trump she interviews Ivanka’s mother, Ivana Trump, writer Bob Colacello, Vanity Fair’s Emily Jane Fox, Vogue and New York contributing writer Jonathan Van Meter, and former Donald Trump attorney Jay Goldberg, among others.
The podcast will debut Aug. 5 on Luminary and run for eight episodes with two bonus episodes.
