Storic Media Podcast Networks, the podcast company launched earlier this year by radio syndicator United Stations Media Network, has teamed up with television personality Melissa Rivers for the newest addition to its lineup. Melissa Rivers’ Group Text was inspired by daily group chats between Rivers and her friends. The podcast, which began releasing episodes last September, features a wide-ranging discussion of current events, pop culture, fashion, lifestyle, relationships, fitness, parenting, entertainment and mental health.

“My Group Text Podcast is the perfect medium for the 21st century,” Rivers said in the announcement. “It allows for numerous points of view; intelligent conversation; laughter; and a timely and compelling approach to the issues we are all confronting.”

Rivers dips into her contact list to book guests for the podcast. Upcoming guests will include relationship guru Patti Stanger, former People Magazine editor and pop culture icon Jess Cagle, Hollywood Medium Tyler Henry, actor Catherine Oxenberg, renowned medicine specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky, SAG/AFTRA President and actor Gabrielle Carteris, media personality Kelly Osbourne, actress Marilu Henner, conspiracy debunker Mick West, entertainment journalist Sam Rubin, and cult expert Rick Alan Ross.

“We are pleased to have Melissa as part of the Storic family,” said Storic’s Director Kristin Verbitsky. “She is an incredibly talented and hardworking woman who we are proud to form a partnership with. Melissa Rivers’ Group Text Podcast speaks to what people are talking about on a day-to-day basis: love, mental health, and, yes, Tiger King.”

The weekly podcast releases new episodes on Fridays.

The Storic Media Podcast Network debuted in March with what it said were plans for podcasts across a wide range of genres including originals, narrative, crime, thriller, lifestyle, fan-casts, comedy, comedy-thriller, mystery, drama, music and children’s content. All content will also be filmed and featured on the Storic YouTube channel.

Started in March, Storic has already launched a number of podcasts, many tied to its United Stations radio content, including music shows Alice Cooper’s Vintage Vault, The Triple R with Riki Rachtman, Open House Party Uncut, Fabcast, comedy/pop culture shows The Sandy Show and Last Exit To Brooklyn, NASCAR show The Final Lap, and children’s programming, including Fairy Tales with Granny MacDuff, plus in-studio performances from emerging artists on The Record on USRN.
