He may be best known for his television talk show, but Montel Williams is also a podcaster. He’s hosted the cannabis lifestyle and interview show called Let’s Be Blunt since last August. Now under a new deal with ReVolver Podcasts, Williams will relaunch the show with a weekly podcast featuring discussions on issues like health, wellness and other inspirational topics. His first show under the new banner is timed to the stay-at-home life many people are living as Williams uses his own loneliness battles in the past to offer advice on how to cope with social isolation.
“I’m excited to get started with ReVolver as we endeavor to bring Let’s Be Blunt to a wider audience,” Williams said in the announcement.
ReVolver Podcasts is the multicultural digital audio network that has become an incubator for established and emerging talent to launch podcasts. “At ReVolver, we are very excited to have a media personality on Montel’s level come onboard,” said President Jack Hobbs. “We are proud that Montel chose to partner with ReVolver — this is the best endorsement we can have.”
ReVolver has been growing its footprint in recent months, having struck a multi-year development, co-production and distribution partnership with the iHeartPodcast Network in February. The two companies will co-produce eight new podcasts per year in a move the companies say will capitalize on iHeart’s ability to promote and introduce the podcasts to the vast majority of the country, reaching hundreds of millions of new potential listeners nationwide through channels such as the “Sunday Night Podcasts” radio show. iHeartMedia will also become the exclusive sales representative of the ReVolver Podcast network.
