Osiris Media, which focuses on music- and culture-based podcasts, has launched a new Artist Spotlight podcast series. The company has already been partnering with musicians to create podcasts and reps say the new shows that it has cued up will formalize its focus on the segment with a slate of new podcasts with musicians at the helm.

The first show as part of that effort is Moods & Modes, a podcast hosted by guitar legend Alex Skolnick who explores the work of renowned musicians through commentary, conversation, and live performance. That included a recent tribute episode to the late, great Eddie Van Halen.

Osiris Media will be partnering with musician Maggie Rose for a new Artist Spotlight podcast. Salute the Songbird with Maggie Rose is scheduled to debut in early 2021. Rose, a Nashville-based rock and soul singer, will take the listener into her world as an independent artist in the male-dominated, often volatile, music industry. Osiris saysthe podcast will feature Rose in candid conversations with her female musical heroes about their lives in and out of music, challenging the status quo, and changing the game for those coming up behind them.

“Connecting artists and music fans is one of the main reasons we started Osiris,” said CEO RJ Bee in the announcement. “These new shows add unique perspectives from unique artists. Alex informs and entertains music fans on every episode. And the show we’ll be creating with Maggie Rose will help highlight the amazing work of female artists. We’re proud to be developing these new shows that will deepen the connection between musicians and their fans.”

Osiris Media has more than 40 podcasts in its lineup currently, which it says have about 250,000 downloads per month with three-quarters of its listeners in the 25-44 year old age group. While music is a common thread, not all its shows are all just focused on that with podcasts like Fear of a Craft Beer Planet and the current events-focused The Road To Now also in its catalog.
