Bonnie-Jill Laflin is the NBA’s first and only female NBA scout. And since last September she’s also been part of the cast of the “Murph & Mac” morning show on Cumulus Media’s sports KNBR San Francisco (680) in addition to her work on Fox Sports. Now the former cheerleader for the Golden State Warriors and the San Francisco 49ers will add another entry to her media resume: podcaster. The Weekly Pass is a new show that Laflin will co-host alongside Adam Copeland, the host of the early morning (5-6am) KNBR show “The Leadoff Spot.” Upcoming episodes of the weekly sports podcast feature interviews with sports superstars such as Lenny Wilkens, Roger Clemons, Shaquille O’Neil, Jerry Rice, and Curt Schilling.
“I’m excited to join the Westwood One team and have this platform where my career in sports and entertainment intersects with athletes and celebrities, many of whom I’m fortunate enough to call friends,” Laflin said.
Bonnie-Jill has a number of firsts in her career. In addition to her role with the NBA, she was the first to cheer on a professional level for three teams in two sports, and is the first female to be awarded six championship rings.
“There is no doubt that Bonnie-Jill is an empowering pioneer for women in sports,” said Suzanne Grimes, President of Westwood One. “Her access, credibility, authentic relationships with her guests, and chemistry with Adam make The Weekly Pass a winner.”
