A new podcast conference, Sports PodCon, will gather in Orlando in March 2020 to “facilitate the highly engaged podcast community” that focuses on podcasters in the sports, esports and gaming categories. It is sponsored by Gameday Media.
“Attendees will learn about the unique challenges and benefits of starting and launching a sports-related podcast, developing strategies for audience growth, cutting-edge tools, technology and innovation that complement content creation in a sports environment, marketing and monetization,” according to a release announcing the new conference.
Among topics slated for sessions: “Creating the Ideal Interview Process for Your Guests,” “Engaging with Your Audience to Create Content People Want To Hear” and “Ask the Experts.” There will be an overall emphasis on networking and the power of social media and proactive local audience experiential audience engagement; while the SportsPod Awards will wrap the event, recognizing the best in sports, esports and gaming podcasts in 12 categories.
“The goal of this conference is to showcase world-class sports podcasters, local and regional podcasters with loyal audiences and those interested in getting into this space and connect them all in one dynamic, engaging and collaborative community,” said Sports PodCon founder John Largent. “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Chris Krimitsos and the Podfest team to build a great conference for one of the most vibrant and economically desirable podcast spaces: sports, esports and gaming.”
