Spreaker has added a new private podcast RSS feed feature for users of its hosting platform. They’re calling it the “Limited RSS Feed” and the company says it gives publishers the ability to share a private RSS feed with their audience – across many third party apps and on Spreaker – as a way to monetize bonus content that’s not available in their public feeds. “With this feature, you have the ability to make exclusive content for a special subset of listeners,” it tells users in a blog post. “For instance, you can create private episodes or an entirely private podcast for your paying listeners – and distribute it to third party listening apps.” That’s different than its existing Episode Visibility feature which only allows listeners to hear that episode on the Spreaker app.

… Comedy writer Ben Mandelker and comedian Ronnie Karam, who produce and co-host the wickedly funny podcast Watch What Crappens, have signed with William Morris Endeavor. The pair says by connecting with WME they are looking to take their show to the next level. Watch What Crappens lampoons the ongoing drama taking place on Bravo and has more than two million listens per month. They’ve leveraged that into a string of sold-out live performances across the country since 2017.

…No, H&M isn’t starting a podcast. But its latest ad campaign may seem like it is. That’s because the television commercials feature Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth Carter host an imaginary podcast called And That’s the Truth, Ruth! In the spots Carter plays herself and she’s joined by comedian Jay Versace. Shot on a makeshift set of a retro brownstone in a city neighborhood, the duo chats about a limited-edition collection Carter has created with H&M as well as what the retailer says will be “a dialogue about the African American experience that bridges generations.” Carter has worked on films such as Do The Right Thing, Malcom X, Amistad, Selma, Black Panther, and Dolemite.

…The podcast hosting platform Buzzsprout has released new tools that will allow users to track statistics about their show, including how a podcast performs over time, episode downloads, technology used by listeners and the listener’s location. “We’ve taken considerable time to ensure we’re presenting authentic data in a well-designed interface,” says co-founder Kevin Finn. The Jacksonville, FL-based company says it will embrace privacy by anonymizing data. Finn says in a blog post that the advanced stats will be available to all Buzzsprout customers, on all plans.
