PRX, the parent of the podcast network Radiotopia, has made a pair of hires geared toward beefing up its content and growing its audience. PRX has announced it hired Charlotte Cooper as Director of Audience Growth and Marketing and Jason Saldanha has been brought on as its new Content Director.
Cooper joins PRX after spending the past two years at New York Public Radio, where she most recently was a Senior Manager of Podcast Membership. She earlier was the Director of Digital Strategy for Show of Force, the documentary series production company.
“Charlotte brings considerable experience growing podcasts and the communities around them,” said PRX’s Chief of Marketing Donna Hardwick in the announcement. “We’re thrilled she’s joined our growing marketing team at PRX and can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes.”
Saldanha will join PRX next week. He’ll oversee key PRX broadcast productions and podcasts in addition to the PRX Remix streaming and broadcast service. Saldanha will also lead content partnership with organizations including the Smithsonian Institute and help develop content with WGBH Boston, among others.
Saldanha joins PRX from The Chicago Humanities Festival, where he oversaw the production of more than 130 live events across the city each year. It’s a return to media for Saldanha, who previously was Executive Producer of Sound Opinions, the syndicated music and talk show that originates on WBEZ Chicago. Saldanha has also served as Managing Producer for Amazon’s radio drama The Man in the High Castle and as Producer for the podcast How to Be Amazing with Michael Ian Black.
“Jason brings an incredible range of experience to our content team as we develop fresh programming and scale our audience engagement efforts alongside partners aligned with public media values,” PRX Chief Content Officer John Barth said in the announcement.
