For Dummies

The Los Angeles talent firm The Weiss Agency’s new podcast division TWA Podcast Studios has announced the latest addition to its show lineup. Soap opera star Eric Martsolf will host For Dummies: The Podcast. It’s a brand extension of the Dummies brand of reference books that have tackled a variety of topics through the years. In its podcast form, For Dummies will distill one of the books in an audio format in each episode.

“Dummies aims to share knowledge and help make learning easy and accessible to everyone and we believe that this podcast will help listeners learn more about the topics they care about and enjoy,” says Matt Holt, SVP of Professional Development at publisher John Wiley & Sons.

“Dummies is an iconic media brand that has successfully educated readers around the globe for over three decades,” says Eric Weiss. “I am thrilled to partner with Wiley to produce an informative and entertaining podcast that will allow us to share this gold mine of instructional information with listeners around the world.”

There are more than 250 million “Dummies” books in print and thousands of published titles globally in 30 languages. “From cryptocurrency to sex, we’ll cover it all. Listeners should prepare to get enlightened and learn a thousand things or two,” says Martsolf, who currently stars in the NBC daytime drama “Passions.”

The Weiss Agency last month launched TWA Podcast Studio headed by Joe Garner, VP of Podcasting and Digital Media at the company. The first show coming from TWA is Ghost Magnet with Bridget Marquardt. She is already known for her television work as the star of the E! Network’s show “The Girls Next Door.” The reality series features three women living in Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion. But the podcast will explore another side of Marquardt as she explores the paranormal.
