A flurry of podcast deals by SiriusXM continues. Its Stitcher division has just acquired The Bellas Podcast hosted by WWE Hall of Fame Inductees, TV personalities, and best-selling authors Brie and Nikki Bella. Before going on hiatus in the spring, The Bellas Podcast was part of the Endeavor Audio network. As it relaunches, hosts Brie and Nikki will produce the show with support from Stitcher.
"I'm excited to relaunch The Bellas Podcast with Stitcher," said Brie Bella. "Since we've been on hiatus, I've really missed the authentic connection with the Bella Army that podcasting creates. It allows us to be vulnerable, raw and more present than any other platform and I can't wait!!"
Each week on The Bellas Podcast, Brie and Nikki turn on their mics to give listeners uncensored access to their lives. The show will feature the Bella Twins welcoming special guests, touching on current issues and opening up to share real life moments and experiences.
"This podcast has been one of my favorite platforms yet to use my voice," said Nikki Bella. "I get to be uncensored, unedited and so raw. I'm beyond honored to be with SiriusXM's Stitcher now! This is the perfect home for The Bellas Podcast.”
Terms of the deal were not released. The series will roll out its new season on Wednesday, November 3.
In a separate deal, Stitcher has acquired the rights to the independent podcast New Rory & MAL. Hosted by Rory Farrell and Jamil 'MAL' Clay, the show will become part of Stitcher's More Sauce label beginning November 2.
"I've listened to some of my favorite people on SiriusXM for years," said Farrell. "We're honored to join the Stitcher family and are excited to have their support in creating the content we've wanted to create in a much cooler way. They've been instrumental in pushing the podcast genre further, and we look forward to growing with them."
On New Rory & MAL the hosts bring listeners new stories, new laughs and new random hot takes that no one asked for. New episodes will be released Tuesdays and Fridays.
"Rory and MAL embody what More Sauce is all about," said Jazmine Henley-Brown, Executive Producer of More Sauce. "They come with hilarious takes, deep industry connections and stories; but most of all, they seem like the friends you'd love to have at your dinner party or kickback."
Launched in Sept. 2020, More Sauce is a podcast network created to empower Black voices to be completely authentic and unapologetic in their storytelling.
The signings are the latest in a string of podcast announcements from SiriusXM this week. It includes forming an alliance with Jared Gutstadt’s Audio Up that will give SiriusXM an exclusive “first look” at all of Audio Up’s new original podcast concepts. SiriusXM also took a minority stake in the company.
Stitcher also grabbed the rights to The Last Podcast on the Left from Spotify. The move will not only give hosts Ben Kissel, Marcus Parks and Henry Zebrowski a new satellite radio show but also make their podcast widely available after two years as an exclusive to Spotify.
