The hit sitcom “The Office” may no longer be producing new episodes but the show lives on in reruns and now a podcast. In the new show Office Ladies, two of the actors on the NBC comedy – Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly) and Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin) – will unpack an episode of the TV show each week for super-fans.
Office Ladies is a production of Stitcher’s comedy network Earwolf. It says each week Fischer and Kinsey will share behind-the-scenes stories that only two people who were there would know. In addition to sharing their memories and show trivia, the actresses will also take questions from listeners.
Fischer said as they close in on the 15th anniversary of the launch of “The Office” in the U.S., a lot of memories are flooding back into her mind as she and co-host Kinsey watch the episodes, many of which she says she hasn’t seen since they originally aired.
Kinsey echoes that sentiment, saying their work on the TV show was an “amazing chapter” in their lives and acting careers. “It means so much to us that we get to share some of our memories of filming it with our audiences,” said Kinsey.
And in addition to “The Office” chat, Fisher said they’ll also give listeners a peek into their real-life friendship. “You can also hear us chat a little about our lives, our Target runs together, our friendship through the years,” she said.
Colin Anderson, vice president of comedy for Earwolf, said Office Ladies is a good fit for the company since it has previously partnered with other celebrities like late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien and “Queer Eye” cast member Jonathan Van Ness. “What continues to bring audiences to Stitcher is a focus on stories listeners will love in every show, connecting through emotion—whether that’s making listeners laugh, think or empathize,” said Anderson.
Office Ladies is slated to publish its first episode on Oct. 16.
