Authentic, the podcast ad sales company that is a sister to measurement company Podtrac, has announced the release of two new podcasts during the next two months and the return of a third series. Mark McCrery, CEO of both Authentic and Podtrac, made the announcement at last week’s IAB Podcast Upfront.
First up is the debut of Tom Brown’s Body. The podcast is the work of Skip Hollandsworth, a staff writer at Texas Monthly magazine and a true crime writer who authored the best seller “The Midnight Assassin.” In the true crime podcast Tom Brown’s Body, the series will tell the story of a popular high school senior in a small Texas town who disappears.
Next month Michael Connelly-hosted Murder Book returns for its second season. The new season is titled “The Women Who Stopped Sam Little” about one of the most prolific serial killers in American history.
Later this year will bring the debut of Unpacking America. The podcast is hosted by Joel Leon and Katy Stoll. It will feature Black scholars, activists and experts. The company says the series combines historical discussions about race and opportunity with the present day.
