More than seven years after the “MJ Morning Show” left the airwaves at flagship CHR WFLZ Tampa (93.3) and its affiliates in St. Louis and Jacksonville, FL, host Todd “MJ” Schnitt is bringing the show back to life as a podcast, joined by two other former cast members: Fester and Froggy.
“Since the MJ Morning Show left the air, I’ve been perpetually asked by listeners if there’s any chance the show could return? Today, the answer is yes, as we join Radio Influence with our new podcast series,” Schnitt announced. The podcast will debut Tuesday (Oct. 22).
Schnitt has partnered with the Tampa-based digital media company Radio Influence to produce the show. CEO Jerry Petuck has known Schnitt and his co-hosts since he, too, worked in broadcast radio. “I know a lot of people have approached them over the years about putting the proverbial band back together and the fact that it’s actually coming to fruition, especially in the podcasting forum, is phenomenal,” said Petuck. He says the new iteration of the “MJ Morning Show” will most likely be a weekly podcast running about 60 to 75-minutes in duration.
Schnitt is already hosting the The Fark and Schnitt Podcast with co-host Drew Curtis, creator of the news aggregator website Fark. That weekly show launched in September and features a wry take on the week’s news. Schnitt also hosts a syndicated radio talk show for Compass Media Networks that airs on about 50 stations nationwide.
