Fox Sports play-by-play announcer and reporter Chris Myers is taking CMI: The Chris Myers Interview to podcasting. The show, which had aired on Fox Sports Radio, will relaunch on the LiveXLive-owned PodcastOne platform beginning this week.

“We’ll go in-depth on stories past, present and future that affect the world of sports and everybody in it and around it – current athletes, some hall of famers, and some people you and I know,” said Myers on the show’s preview.

Myers’ history in audio dates to the age of 16 when he started his own talk radio show at WKAT Miami (1450), interviewing sports legends such as Muhammad Ali and Don Shula. More recently he was the co-host of the midday show on now defunct “The Beast 980” KFWB Los Angeles in 2015 and 2016.

Launching on August 26, PodcastOne says CMI: The Chris Myers Interview will offer “revealing conversations” between Myers, who has been dubbed the “best interviewer in sports,” and some of the greatest names in sports including college football’s Urban Meyer, MLB legend Mr. October Reggie Jackson, and retired Super Bowl MVP and fellow broadcaster Troy Aikman, among others.

PodcastOne Executive Chairman Norm Pattiz said the show came about during an impromptu conversation. “I’m sitting on the beach in Santa Barbara and next to me is Chris Myers and a very famous athlete. I said to Chris, “Do you think this guy would guest on your podcast?” Chris replied, “I don’t have a podcast.” Well he does now,” said Pattiz.

It joins PodcastOne’s other sports-focused shows including The Dan Patrick ShowThe Rich Eisen Show and The Big Podcast with Shaq.
