Apple Podcast subscriptions went live in June and the company has released its first ranking of the channels with the biggest number of subscribers. The the top two – Wondery Plus and Luminary – are both veterans of the paid model, having previously offered subscription products to listeners. Here’s the full top 10:

Apple also released a ranking of the top ad-supported channels. It is led by the New York Times, which has more than two dozen podcasts available on its channel. Here’s the full top 10:

Apple Podcasts Subscriptions are from June 15 through September 15.  Apple says the Top Free Channels is ranked in order of total listeners worldwide over the past three months for shows united under each channel and does not include any fully paid or “freemium” channels (those with a mix of free and paid content). 

Top Subscriptions is ranked in order of total subscribed listeners worldwide over the past three months and includes both channels and individual shows. Apple Podcasts measures listeners as the number of unique devices that have played more than 0 seconds of an episode.
