STATION SALES

Pittsburgh -- Frank Iorio Jr.’s Pittsburgh Radio Partners has filed a $1.8 million deal to buy rock WLER (97.7), country “Butler 1050” WBUT, and talk WISR (680) in Butler, PA from Vicki Hinterberger’s Butler Radio Network. The deal also includes two FM translators: the Butler, PA-licensed W298CW at 107.5 FM which simulcasts WISR; and the Butler, PA-licensed W247DF at 97.3 FM which simulcasts WBUT. Iorio previously sold his Pittsburgh radio stations with a $2.05 million sale of “Talk Radio 1320” WJAS and an FM translator last year and announced his retirement after a 50-year career in radio.

Long Island, NY -- Sejal Dasondi has filed a deal to buy a 50% stake in ethnic WBWD (540) from Radio Zindagi for $1.3 million. She will become business partners with Yash Pandya.

Fayetteville, AR -- Pearson Broadcasting of Goshen has filed a $900,000 deal to buy sports “ESPN Arkansas” KAKS (99.5) from Rox Radio Group. The deal includes the Johnson, AR-licensed translator K237GR at 95.3 FM. Pearson Broadcasting of Goshen already owns KERX (95.3), KBCN-FM (104.3), and KTTG (96.3) in the market. All three currently air “ESPN Arkansas” programming. It will operate KAKS under a $3,375 per month time brokerage agreement until closing.

Little Rock, AR -- Crain Media Group has filed a $300,000 deal to buy KTUV (1440) from Birach Broadcasting. The deal also includes the Little Rock, AR-licensed translator K260DT at 99.9 FM. Crain Media Group already owns hip-hop “96.5 The Box” KHTE-FM in the Little Rock market.

California & Washington -- CSN International has filed a $20,000 deal to buy four construction permits from Calvary Chapel Pearl Harbor. The new stations are in Soledad, CA; Mount Laguna, CA; Hoodsport, WA; and Moses Lake, WA.

Alabama -- Joy Christian Ministries has filed a $15,000 deal to buy sports WQRX, Valley Head, AL (870) from Sand Mountain Broadcasting Service. The deal also includes the Valley Head, AL-licensed translator W259DK at 99.7 FM.

CLOSINGS

Oklahoma City, OK -- Mark Whitten has closed a $1 million deal to buy religious “Oklahoma Catholic Radio” KKNG (97.3) from WPA Radio. Whitten, who owns the Oklahoma City based Commercial Telecom Systems, does not own any other radio stations. WPA Radio still has a pending $113,500 deal to sell talk sister KTLR (890) to Tyler Broadcasting.

Indianapolis -- Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Media has closed a deal valued at $1 million to buy classical WBAA-FM (101.3) and news-talk WBAA (920) from Purdue University. The deal also includes the Lafayette, IN-licensed translator W290CM at 105.9 FM. Under the terms of the deal, MIPA will provide $700,000 worth of underwriting announcements to the University. MIPA also agrees to provide at least $300,000 in future operating funds, including paid student internship sand training opportunities at the station. As a condition of the transfer, WBAA will maintain its call letters and its physical presence in Greater Lafayette. Local news and reporting, NPR and global news, and classical music — mainstays of WBAA’s current lineup – will continue to be aired on WBAA-AM and WBAA-FM and its digital frequencies. WBAA and WBAA-FM become part of a public media cluster than already includes news-talk WFYI-FM (90.1) and WFYI-TV.

Milwaukee -- Michael Crute and Sage Weil have filed a $650,000 deal to buy talk WAUK (540) from Good Karma Brands. The deal includes the Waukesha, WI-licensed translator W266DR at 101.1 FM. Crute currently owns a controlling stake in talk “Devil Radio” WTTN (1580) in the Madison, WI market. Once the sale closes, Good Karma will still own four stations in the Milwaukee market including sports “94.5 ESPN” WKTI, “News Radio 620” WTMJ, talk WAUK (540), and talk WGKB (1510).

Panama City, FL --Roberta Fagan’s RoRo Investments has filed an $180,000 deal to buy “Kick’n Country 103.5” WKNK, classic hits “B-95.9” WRBA, and adult hits “Bob 105.1 FM” WASJ from Aaron Scott Lee’s Great American Media. Fagan does not own any other stations. Great American Media purchased the stations for $700,000 in 2019.

Oregon -- Growing Christian Foundation has closed an $80,000 deal to buy Spanish contemporary Christian KGIO, Astoria, OR (90.5) from La Estacion De La Familia. Growing Christian Foundation owns stations in Washington and Idaho, but this is its first station in Oregon. Broker: MCH Enterprises

Atlanta -- Hispanic Family Christian Network has filed a $35,000 deal to buy the currently-silent WAZX (1550) from Intelli. Atlanta is a new market for Dallas-based Hispanic Family Christian Network, which 14 other full-power stations and several translators, mainly in Texas.

Connecticut -- Jonathan Wilcox and Gideon Fountain’s Greenwich E-Radio has filed a $25,000 deal to buy “News Talk 1490” WGCH, Greenwich, CT from Forte Family Broadcasting. Greenwich E-Radio will operate the station under a time brokerage agreement until closing.
