Milwaukee -- Michael Crute and Sage Weil have filed a $650,000 deal to buy WAUK (540) from Good Karma Brands. The deal includes the Waukesha, WI-licensed translator W266DR at 101.1 FM. They will operate the station under a time brokerage agreement until closing. Crute currently owns a controlling stake in talk “Devil Radio” WTTN (1580) in the Madison, WI market. Once the sale closes, Good Karma will still own four stations in the Milwaukee market including sports “94.5 ESPN” WKTI, “News Radio 620” WTMJ, talk WAUK (540), and talk WGKB (1510).
California -- K-Faith has filed a $295,000 deal to buy Christian rock “Broken FM” KORB, Hopland, CA (88.7) from One Ministries. The deal also includes four FM translators: the Santa Rosa, CA-licensed K276FY at 103.1 FM; the Ukiah, CA-licensed K267BA at 101.3 FM; the Santa Rosa, CA-licensed K218EN at 91.5 FM; and the Santa Rosa, CA-licensed K208GA at 89.5 FM.
Florida -- Sunny Days Radio has filed a deal to buy adult alternative “104.9 The X” WXKW, Key West, FL from James Day in a dal that values the station at $120,000. Sunny Days Radio is a 50-50 partnership between Day and Kevin Redding. Under the terms of the deal, Redding will pay $60,000 including $50,000 for the purchase of his stake as well as $10,000 toward operating expenses. Day will contribute his 50% stake, valued at $60,000.
Oklahoma -- Mark Harcourt and Thane Conriocht’s Running Wolf Radio has filed a $50,000 deal to buy contemporary Christian “97.5 The Quake” KPAK, Alva, OK from George Flinn. The deal includes a $45,000 promissory note.
Minnesota -- Father and son Dennis and Lucas Carpenter have filed a $3,000 deal to buy WZBY, Grand Portage, MN (92.7) from Samir Abumayyaleh’s Multi-Cultural Diversity Radio. WZBY is a construction permit for a new station.
Wyoming -- Vic Michael’s Mountain Community Translators has filed a $10,500 deal to buy the Casper, WY-licensed K242CI at 96.3 FM from Radio By Grace. The filing says the translator will simulcast Michael’s variety “K-Rocky” KRKY, Douglas, WY (88.7).
San Jose -- Silicon Valley Asian Media Group has closed an $8 million deal to buy ethnic “Bolly 92.3” KSJO from Universal Media Access. Asian Media Group is a partnership between Sanjiv Gupta, Gregg Pirillo, and Brad Behnke. They do not own any other stations. Mercury Capital-backed Universal Media Access does not own any other stations.
Miami-Ft. Lauderdale -- Marc Paskin’s Marco Broadcasting has closed a $1.25 million deal to buy brokered business talk “Money Talk Radio” WWNN (1470) from Beasley Media Group. The deal also includes the Boca Raton, FL-licensed translator W237BD at 95.3, and the Lauderdale Lakes, FL-licensed translatorW245BC at 96.9. Beasley does not own any other stations in the market. Paskin is a San Diego millionaire real estate developer best known for being part of ABC-TV’s “Secret Millionaire” reality show. He currently does not currently have any other radio station assets. His company previously operated KXXP White Salmon, WA (104.5) under an LMA with then-station owner Sebago Broadcasting. Earlier it owned the former KBUD Denver (1550). Broker: Hadden & Associates
Montana -- Ron and Michelle Davis’ Butte Broadcasting has closed a $135,000 deal to buy classic hits “96.9 The River” KQRV, Deer Lodge, MT from Karen Toole. The deal also includes the Butte, MT-licensed translator K257AF at 99.3 FM. Butte Broadcasting already owns adult hits KOPR (94.1), hot AC “Magic 97.7” KGLM, and “Country 550” KBOW in the region. Toole still owns the silent KBCK (1400) in the area.
Roanoke-Lynchburg, VA-- Brian Sizer’s Backroads Radio has closed a $100,000 deal to buy religious WKBA (1550) from Tinker Creek Broadcasters. The deal also includes the Vinton, VA-licensed translator W226CN at 93.1 FM. Sizer does not own any other stations in the Roanoke-Lynchburg market but he is an owner of “Classic Country 98.1” WBRF in the Greensboro-Winston-Salem-High Point, NC market.
Allentown-Bethlehem, PA -- Patrick Cerullo and Lee L’Heureux’s Major Keystone has closed a deal to swap its two stations to VP Broadcasting in exchange for the two stations it owns in the market. The deal will see Major Keystone picking up R&B “Loud Radio” WEST/WHOL (1400/1600) from VP Broadcasting. It also gets the Allentown, PA-licensed translator W295CR at 106.9 FM. And the Easton, PA-licensed translator W258DV at 99.5 FM. In exchange, VP Broadcasting will get tropical “Mega” WTKZ/WGLD (1320/1440). It also gets the Manchester Township, PA-licensed translator W296EA at 107.1 FM.
