Cox Media Group launches “The Erick Erickson Show” into national syndication. Erickson moved into the noon-3pm slot formerly occupied by the late Rush Limbaugh on the company’s news/talk powerhouse WSB-WSBB-FM Atlanta (750/95.5) in March and will now be available to affiliates across the country beginning June 1.
Erickson, who is also a nationally syndicated columnist, has been a mainstay on WSB for a decade. In May of 2019, Cox placed Erickson, who was then hosting a 2-4pm program on WSB, on co-owned WGAU Albany, GA (1240), where he hosted a separate live 9am-12pm program. With his 12-3pm debut on WSB in March, WGAU picked up a simulcast of the show in the same daypart.
“We’re excited to announce this partnership,” CMG Senior VP of Radio Rob Babin said in a release. “Erick has performed successfully for many years on 95.5 WSB Radio, and no doubt, he’ll make an impact as the Erick Erickson show expands.”
No affiliates have been announced.
“I’ve been working towards this for a very long time, and I appreciate my long relationship with CMG,” Erickson said. “We look forward to continued success at 95.5 WSB and many new affiliates across the country.”
Drew Anderssen, WSB Director of Branding and Programming, added, “Erick’s contribution to WSB has been phenomenal. His ratings are through the roof and we’re excited to see him have similar success for affiliates across the country.”
Andrew Kalb is handling affiliate relations. John McConnell of Workhouse Media represents Erickson and facilitated the syndication effort.
While not a national roll-out, in recent months CMG has placed Mark Kaye, based at WOKV-FM Jacksonville, on KRMG-AM/FM Tulsa (740/102.3) and WHIO-FM Dayton, OH (95.7), airing in the noon-3pm slot on the three stations.
